Cynthia Hodges and Audrey Brown

We are experienced Advanced Placement 2D Art and Design teachers who have developed an online tutoring business. We understand what it takes to succeed through years of successful teaching and helping students create winning portfolios. We have collaborated on AP Art ideas for many years and we share a philosophy of art and teaching. Both of us have seen our AP Art students go on to be successful graphic designers, architects, web and game designers, storyboard artists, animators, photographers, illustrators, fashion designers and more.

CYNTHIA HODGES

I have been teaching AP Studio Art and Photography in the Bay Area for 15 years and high school art for 20 and love helping my students succeed and develop their inner voice. My schooling consists of majoring in set design at SUNY Purchase in New York and getting my teaching credential at San Jose State in 1999. I have been certified to teach AP Art since 2005 and keep up with art related workshops in the Bay Area. Before teaching I was a painter and model maker for movies and theater and painted murals in homes and in discovery museums.

AUDREY BROWN

I have been an AP Studio Art teacher since 1998! It has been the joy of my life. I understand Advanced Placement 2D Art & Design and what it takes to succeed, through decades of successful teaching, and helping students to create winning portfolios. I have also created “How to create your best AP Portfolio” for FIDMl, and have spoken on Equity Issues for AP College Board at the National Art Education Association Convention. I have degrees in art from both California College of Art and the San Francisco Academy of Art. I have trained with contemporary artists in London, France, Italy and the USA.
